Superposition: Atomic Scanner

Superposition is an interdisciplinary research project that explores the overlap between quantum physics and human perception. Rooted in the concept of quantum superposition, the project imagines a body’s capacity to exist in multiple places at once—an abstract yet scientifically grounded idea, drawn from Schrödinger’s theories and popularized in visual culture, such as in David Lynch’s Dune.
Through the use of custom-built quantum simulator that records without human presence, the project renders the probable presence of a human body across multiple planes in three-dimensional space, offering viewers both a visual and conceptual experience of entanglement, observation, and the collapse of possibility into presence.

Updating on Research in Quantum Random Number Generation
This monthly talk for ThaiYQ2025 & IYQ2025 will focus on generating random numbers, which play a crucial role in many scientific applications, presented by an active researcher, Dr. Xing Lin from Hong Kong. Unlike pseudo-random number generators, quantum devices can produce truly random numbers based on the fundamental laws of quantum mechanics.
However, information-theoretically secure random number generation is typically predicated on idealized device models, which may not accurately reflect real-world implementations. To address this gap, he has introduced several quantum random number generation protocols that do not rely on detailed characterization of the devices. In this talk, he will first provide an overview of the development and research progress in quantum random number generation. He will then introduce our recent works in this area, followed by a discussion of future directions for quantum random number generation.

How Quantum is Transforming Our Modern Lives
Prof. Dr. Özgür Müstecaplıoğlu, from the Koç University College of Sciences, Department of Physics, will deliver a public lecture titled “How Quantum is Transforming Our Modern Lives.” In celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, declared by the United Nations and coordinated globally by UNESCO, this talk will guide the audience from the often-overlooked quantum technologies that already shape our daily lives—such as barcode scanners, MRI machines, and smartphones—to today’s exciting frontier: the second quantum revolution, promising transformative advances in quantum computing, cryptography, and sensing.
The event is open to all science enthusiasts who enjoy learning, exploring, and discovering. Koç University organizes it under the “Science for Everyone” initiative of the Higher Education Council of Türkiye. Quantum Festival 2025
Quantum Festival 2025 is a free public initiative dedicated to exploring and sharing the fascinating world of quantum technologies: a rapidly evolving field reshaping science, innovation, and industry. Through two full days of interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions, the festival makes the complex potential of quantum computing accessible to everyone, from students and educators to entrepreneurs, researchers, and curious minds. The event will culminate in a closing conference open to the general public, offering an inspiring look at the future of the quantum revolution.
Following the success of its first edition, which brought together over 200 participants, including students, researchers, and enthusiasts, the second edition will take place on November 20–21, 2025. Designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and public understanding, the festival features free events such as educational workshops for schools, meetings with industry professionals, science outreach activities, and networking opportunities for the research community.
From classrooms to startups and from universities to major enterprises, the Quantum Festival aims to be a national hub for dialogue, learning, and collaboration around the technologies driving the next great leap in computation and innovation.
Qiskit Fall Fest @ University of Stuttgart
We are an interdisciplinary team of five students from the University of Stuttgart, proud to have been selected to organize a Qiskit Fall Fest 2025 in collaboration with IBM Quantum.
Qiskit Fall Fests are student-led events held at universities around the world to strengthen local quantum computing communities, foster collaboration among students, researchers, and industry, and promote the exchange of knowledge on the latest developments in quantum computing and technology. Each year, IBM selects a limited number of student teams globally to host these events—and in 2025, our team at the University of Stuttgart is part of this exciting international lineup.
Our Qiskit Fall Fest will take place from November 3–5, 2025, on the University of Stuttgart campus, featuring:
1. Lectures and workshops on quantum technology, quantum computing, and related topics;
2. A one-day hackathon, followed by an awards ceremony;
3. A networking day bringing together students, researchers, and industry professionals;
4. A mini-fair, where companies and research institutions will present their work and offer insights into the world of quantum technology.
IBM Quantum supports the event through materials, merchandise, and invited speakers, ensuring participants gain both theoretical and practical insights into the quantum ecosystem.

LAS Art Foundation presents this symposium as part of its ongoing Sensing Quantum programme, launched in February 2025 with Laure Prouvost: WE FELT A STAR DYING and the Sound Lab, featuring works by Kara-Lis Coverdale, Marco Donnarumma, and Aïsha Devi. It continues with a publication and a second commissioned installation in Berlin in January 2026.
ThaiYQ2025—Prospects in Quantum Communication within the Paris Ecosystem
Another online monthly #IYQ2025 & #ThaiYQ2025 keynote talk will be given by Dr. Eleni Diamanti, Paris Centre for Quantum Technologies (PCQT) coordinator. A story of the Paris quantum technology ecosystem, focusing especially on quantum communication (quantum cryptography), will be presented on October 16, 2025. The historic evolution from Planck’s theory to 1925, through the modern quantum model, and to recent milestones will be traced. From the perspective of the PCQT Director, quantum communication, which involves hybridizing QKD with post-quantum cryptography and deploying prototypes like CV-QKD, will be highlighted alongside other visions of R&D management in this talk.
