Dr. Célia Pelluet is unique in the quantum industry. She has a PhD in quantum engineering and is an optical scientist at the French Space Agency (CNES), and also a stand-up comedian.
Pelluet specializes in quantum sensors for space applications, participating in developing the first quantum accelerometer for space through the space mission CARIOQA. Beyond her research, Pelluet engages the public through her comedy and science communication. Since 2023, she has appeared on the popular broadcaster France Inter and, since 2025, regularly contributes to the radio show La Dernière on Nova, making complex quantum concepts accessible and entertaining.
Pelluet also promotes gender equality in STEM, participating in international events promoting gender equity in science. She has been recognized with the L’Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents Award for Women in Science for her contributions to research and outreach.
By making quantum technology relatable and finding its funny side through her comedy, Pelluet strengthens the visibility and societal relevance of quantum science, while mentoring and motivating the next generation of researchers.
