Amanda Stein

Dr. Amanda Stein has played a pivotal role in shaping the current quantum ecosystem. Her work in quantum science began in 2013 at the University of Maryland, where she connected researchers with opportunities for partnerships and commercialization, including at the university’s Quantum Technology Center. In 2022, she joined Quantum Catalyzer (Q-Cat) as CEO, focusing on transitioning quantum sensing technologies developed in Q-Cat’s labs into startup ventures. Under Stein’s leadership, the organization has launched two companies with plans for additional high-impact initiatives.

Her work emphasizes practical applications of quantum technologies, supporting commercialization and fostering innovation beyond traditional research environments. Stein combines technical understanding with a broader perspective, highlighting the importance of diverse expertise to grow the quantum sector.
