Dr. Lachlan Rogers has had a national impact in Australia through his dedication to inspiring and connecting communities through quantum science. His research earned him an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Research Award in 2017, and he is now tenured at the University of Newcastle, Australia. He is also the co-founder of Redback Systems, a startup developing advanced spectroscopic instruments that emerged from his quantum research.

Rogers’ impact on public engagement with quantum science has been substantial. He initiated and organized the inaugural Quantum Coast-to-Coast Road Trip in 2018, which has evolved into a flagship activity during Australia’s National Science Week. As host of the Clear as Quantum podcast, he has reached a global audience with over 6,500 downloads across 80+ countries. His quantum technology demonstrations attracted 2,000 students at the Australian Museum and are being considered for permanent exhibition at Questacon, Australia’s national science museum.

His sustained dedication to making quantum science accessible across multiple platforms and audiences demonstrates a comprehensive commitment to bridging research excellence with public understanding and engagement.
