The 45th National Convention of the South African Chemical Institute (SACI-45) will be held at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, from 30 November to 05 December 2025.

Held triennially, SACI-45 will showcase the vibrancy and diversity of chemical sciences in South Africa and beyond.

In honour of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ), SACI-45 will host a special session dedicated to quantum sciences. This session will explore a range of topics, from fundamental quantum processes to advanced quantum tools applied in chemistry, including imaging, sensing, computational techniques, etc.
