Quantum Sciences and Technologies: Impacts of Quantum Computing on the Future of Chemical Research

Quantum computing has proven advantageous in solving complex problems within chemistry, including simulating (bio)chemical systems, calculating energetics for molecular systems, modeling complex chemical dynamics, and more. This session at the ACS Spring 2025 in the San Diego Convention Center will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the current state of quantum computing and how it can be used to advance research in chemistry. This collaborative session includes lectures and discussions on the theory behind quantum computing and its application in chemistry, as well as hands-on experience using IBM’s quantum computing software Qiskit.
