Quantum is Entering the Cybersecurity Spotlight

To promote and celebrate the International Year of Quantum Science & Technology (IYQ), Kingston University London, United Kingdom, is running an online outreach event focused on raising awareness of the potential disruptive impact on cybersecurity and networks that could ensue as a consequence of the transformative power of quantum computing. This event is an offering from our newly established Cybersecurity Academic Centre of Excellence.

Participants will have the chance to see how a well-known quantum such as entanglement, superposition, and many more could be used to search vast amounts of data to find certain pieces of information in record times that would otherwise require unrealistic amounts of time with classical computing techniques. The demo will utilise the well-known Grover algorithm to do the search.

The event will be delivered by Dr. Kamaran Fathulla, Head of Networks and Digital Media Department. Kingston University London.
