The Quantum Frontiers Symposium, hosted by the ARUA Centre of Excellence in Materials, Energy, and Nanotechnology (CoE-MEN), will be a hybrid event held in celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. This unique gathering will bring together South African researchers in person, alongside ARUA CoE-MEN member universities and associate partners from The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, who will participate either virtually or in person.

The symposium aims to showcase cutting-edge research on quantum materials, foster meaningful interdisciplinary exchange, and establish collaborative networks across Africa and Europe. The programme will feature presentations by leading researchers in the field of quantum materials, as well as poster sessions highlighting the work of emerging scholars, including students and postdoctoral fellows.

The event will serve as a platform to explore the role of quantum materials in future technologies, while promoting dialogue, mentorship, and partnerships among top researchers, early-career scientists, and institutions committed to advancing quantum science on the continent and beyond.
