Quantum Enabling Technologies Workshop (QETw 2025)
The Quantum Enabling Technologies Workshop (QETw) is a key meeting point for the European quantum ecosystem, designed to highlight the enabling technologies essential for the development of next-generation quantum computers, sensors, communications, and software solutions.
Scientific and Industrial Ambition
The 2025 edition aims to strengthen QETw’s role as a catalyst for innovation by creating a unique space for dialogue between large companies, academic laboratories, SMEs, and start-ups.
The focus is on three main levers:
Scientific and technological valorization: presentation of flagship projects and recent breakthroughs in integrated photonics, cryogenics, advanced electronics, metrology, instrumentation, and applied quantum software (chemistry, AI, simulation).
Ecosystem structuring: stronger integration of SMEs and start-ups into the dynamics of national and European consortia and calls for projects, with particular emphasis on the supply chain and industrialization.
Collective value creation: collaborative workshops (“Technological Alliance Labs”) aimed at generating concrete collaborations, defining micro-roadmaps, and preparing joint projects that address the technological challenges of the field.
Scientific Format
Morning plenary session: high-value presentations by key experts, showcasing flagship technological projects, followed by a roundtable bringing together industry leaders, academics, and public policymakers.
Afternoon thematic workshops: co-construction of collaboration pathways around strategic topics (integrated photonics, quantum sensors, cryogenics and packaging, quantum software and algorithms, industrialization, and funding). An expert leads each group and produces a tangible output (action sheets, mini-roadmaps, targeted industrial alliances).
Expected Impact
QETw 2025 aims to:
- Accelerate networking and synergies across the value chain.
- Foster the emergence of multidisciplinary consortia and collaborative projects addressing key technological bottlenecks.
- Strengthen the European visibility of the French ecosystem and contribute to the international momentum fostered by the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025).
By aligning with the spirit of the IYQ, QETw 2025 illustrates how enabling technologies form an indispensable foundation for the rise of quantum applications, and how their synergy accelerates the transition from fundamental research to industrial innovation.
