One-Day International Symposium on “Quantum Computing: Computing for the Next Century” under UNESCO’s International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025)

In celebration of UNESCO’s International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025), Assam Don Bosco University successfully organized a One-Day International Symposium on “Quantum Computing: Computing for the Next Century” on October 14, 2025, at the School of Technology, Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati, India. The event was organized by the Quantum Technology Group, Assam Don Bosco University, in collaboration with the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The symposium aimed to promote global awareness and engagement in quantum science, aligning with UNESCO’s vision of fostering advancements in next-generation computing technologies.


The University was honored to host Dr. Harish Sahu, Scientist ‘F’, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), New Delhi, India, as the distinguished resource person. The symposium commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Manoranjan Kalita, Director, School of Technology, who highlighted the growing significance of quantum computing and its vast research potential across diverse domains.


The event featured an insightful keynote session, technical discussions, and interactive engagements, providing participants with valuable exposure to emerging trends in quantum technologies. More than 100 participants from various academic institutions and research organizations across India actively took part in the symposium. The program was coordinated by Dr. Sanjib Kalita, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Hemashree Bordoloi.
