Every two years, the Austrian Physical Society (ÖPG) and the Swiss Physical Society (SPG) organize a joint conference. The next meeting will take place at the University of Vienna from August 18 to 22, 2025. As a central binational event, this conference will bring together leading experts from all physics disciplines from Austria and Switzerland with young scientists and students. A company exhibition planned at the same time will also enable networking with industrial partners.

The event creates an ideal platform for the exchange of ideas, the strengthening of interdisciplinary cooperation, and the establishment of new networks. Another focus of the annual conference will be the “International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025” proclaimed by the United Nations. Plenary lectures and a public lecture aimed at the general public at the Austrian Academy of Sciences offer a unique opportunity to present the fascination of physics in general as well as the highlights of physics from Austria and Switzerland to an interested public.
