Event Description:
As part of A Century of Uncertainty—Lecture Series 2025, commemorating 100 years of quantum mechanics, Bhauthiki—The Physics Association of NIT Calicut—organized an invited talk by Dr. Madhu Thalakulam, Associate Professor, IISER Thiruvananthapuram.
The lecture, titled “Isolation and Readout of Single Electrons in Gated Quantum Dots for Spin-Based Quantum Computers,” provided deep insights into the cutting-edge research on semiconductor quantum dots and their role in the development of scalable spin-based quantum computing architectures.
The session aimed to introduce students and faculty to the experimental challenges and breakthroughs in isolating and controlling single electrons, a key building block in the next generation of quantum technologies.
The event was open to all members of the institute, with active participation from students, researchers, and faculty across disciplines, making it a vibrant academic gathering that celebrated both physics and its future impact on technology.
