APS Wiki Scientist Course

How often do you find yourself reading a Wikipedia article? Maybe there is a person or event you want to learn more about, or you need a refresher on Maxwell’s equations, or you want to learn how a tokamak works. Wikipedia provides information on all of these topics, and as one of the top ten visited websites in the world, it is a powerful tool for knowledge sharing.

To contribute to the advancement of physics knowledge through Wikipedia, as well as to elevate the visibility of lesser-known physicists, APS is excited to offer a Wiki Scientist course focused on quantum science and technology! In this six-week course, participants will learn how to edit, update, and translate Wikipedia pages on quantum science and technology topics and scientists.

Quantum Computing Scalability Conference 2025

Scaling quantum computers is central to the NQCC’s mission. Identifying bottlenecks and addressing the most pressing challenges are critical steps toward building efficient roadmaps and supporting the growth of the UK quantum computing ecosystem. The NQCC’s Quantum Computing Scalability Conference is dedicated to tackling the key scalability issues across quantum platforms, from engineering challenges to advances in quantum physics. This conference brings together experts from diverse quantum computing fields, fostering cross-disciplinary insights and enabling honest assessments of scalability.

As the premier research-focused event hosted by the NQCC, the conference features in-depth technical talks, panel discussions, and, for the first time this year, a poster session!

FOUNDATIONS2025: 22nd European Conference on Foundations of Physics

The International Centre for Theory of Quantum Technologies (ICTQT) at the University of Gdańsk (UG) is announcing the 22nd European Conference on Foundations of Physics. This is a continuation of the series of conferences in 1992. For more information about previous editions, please visit this link. The special accent of the 22nd Conference will be Quantum Theory, to celebrate its 100th birthday.

During this three-day event physicists working in foundations, mathematicians, and philosophers of science will have an opportunity to exchange ideas and their latest results covering topics such as foundational aspects of quantum mechanics and quantum field theory, classical and quantum theories of gravity, thermal and statistical physics, astrophysics, cosmology and other.

The conference offers a platform for discussing foundational and philosophical issues in physics, following successful editions in Bristol (2023), Paris (2021), and earlier ones.

During the conference, two parallel sessions will be held. Moreover, attendees will be invited to join an outdoor poster session (vertical A0 format).

Key dates:

  • Submission and registration deadline for Speakers and Poster Presenters: March 15th, 2025
  • Registration deadline for the audience: June 30th, 2025
  • Notifications regarding the acceptance of conference submissions will be sent by April 30th. Speakers and Poster Presenters are asked to pay the conference fees only after receiving confirmation of the acceptance of their submission to the event.

The International School on Mid-InfraRed Technologies for Quantum Sensing (MIRQ)

MIRQ offers a focused opportunity to explore advancements in mid-infrared quantum sensing.
Over the course of a week, participants will engage in lectures, hands-on workshops, and discussions led by experts in the field. MIRQ provides an environment where knowledge exchange and collaboration are at the forefront, making it an ideal setting for both established researchers and those new to the field.
