Entangle Moment – [Quantum | Earth | Universe] × Art

Overview

To commemorate the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Quantum Science and Technology,” this summer, we will hold a special exhibition titled “entangle Moment — [quantum, earth, universe] × art” at the Osaka–Kansai Expo in Japan.
This exhibition aims to allow a wide range of visitors to experience three key themes—the microscopic world of quantum, the oceans and Earth that nurture life, and the vast universe—through collaborations between science, technology, and art.

About the Exhibition

The year 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the discovery of quantum mechanics.
In recognition of this milestone, the United Nations General Assembly has declared 2025 the “International Year of Quantum Science and Technology” under the auspices of UNESCO.

In celebration of this historic year, entangle moment – [quantum | earth | universe] × art will present an immersive experience of the quantum, ocean, and cosmic realms through interdisciplinary collaboration across science, technology, and the arts.
From the microcosmic world of quantum mechanics to the deep sea and global ecosystems and out into the mysteries of the cosmos, this exhibition offers “entangled” installations, where scientific knowledge and artistic imagination are interwoven.
Just as quantum research spans a century, scientists and artists alike have long explored the invisible, the uncertain, and the deeply mysterious aspects of nature.

Across eras, it is creative experimentation—rooted in imagination and technology—that has opened new paths of perception.
The venue will feature a circular space inspired by the legendary Ouroboros, symbolizing continuity between the micro and macro realms.

Visitors are invited to journey through a conceptual loop of past, present, and future

Within this space, cutting-edge research from Japanese universities, institutions, and companies—including quantum computing and sensing, quantum communication, Arctic exploration, deep-sea research tracing the origins of life, and astrophysical studies on black holes and dark matter—will coexist with artistic expressions to form a unique and immersive environment. Through these exhibitions, videos, XR installations, interactive artworks, and computer games, visitors may witness the moment when a new form of art emerges—born from the convergence of imagination and science.

As you explore the exhibition at your own pace, we invite you to reflect on how science and technology are becoming inseparable from our changing planet, and to consider the “moment” we live in—across past, present, and future.
A rich lineup of stage events will also be held, including talks, workshops, and musical programs featuring researchers, artists, and thinkers from diverse fields.

We hope this exhibition serves as a catalyst for new questions, ideas, and initiatives that will propel us into the next 100 years.

The 2025 IYQ Quantum Connect Webinar Series

The American Physical Society presents the Quantum Connect Webinar Series in partnership with the Johns Hopkins Science Diplomacy Hub.

Swiss Quantum Week 2025

To mark the 100th anniversary of quantum science and technology, UNESCO has declared 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. As part of this global celebration, members of Swiss academic institutions, the Swiss quantum industry, and science diplomacy and policymaking have come together to launch the Swiss Quantum Week.
Driven by a mission to connect the diverse stakeholders and users of quantum science and technology—from ecosystem builders and policymakers to researchers, students, and entrepreneurs—Swiss Quantum Week builds on the strengths of established, well-attended events such as QIDiS and the GESDA Summit to create a cohesive platform that includes:

• Swissnex Quantum Summit
• Quantum Industry Day in Switzerland
• The annual GESDA Summit
• Open Quantum Institute in-person gathering
• QAI Quantum Hackathon
• A Quantum Outreach Day for families and the general public

Each event is designed for a specific audience, while encouraging cross-sector dialogue and international collaboration. Swiss Quantum Week aims to broaden perspectives, foster meaningful connections, and strengthen the Swiss and global quantum landscape.

 The Quantum Roundtable

Coming This September: The AQC 3Q Quantum Roundtable Showcase Africa’s Quantum and Deep Tech Momentum. This roundtable spotlights breakthrough startups, frontier research, and our bold vision for a deep tech innovation hub rooted in Africa. Global and diaspora partners will chime in as we shape the continent’s next leap. This is where ideas meet action. Pre-register now. Be part of the build.

Warwick Quantum Launch Event

Warwick Quantum is a new interdisciplinary research initiative that brings together the University of Warwick’s quantum technology work, encompassing the Departments of Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, as well as the School of Engineering and the Warwick Manufacturing Group. Our vision is to provide a bridge between these areas, making an impact on quantum computing and quantum technologies at all levels, from theory and foundations to hardware and industrial applications.

We are hosting the Warwick Quantum launch event in Warwick on Friday, July 11, 2025. The speakers will include Dmitry Budker, Sir Peter Knight, Helena Knowles, Gerald Milburn, and Michael Cuthbert.

Forum: Leverage Quantum’s Clean Tech for Energy

This event is part of our Innovation & Policy Series “EU’s 2040 Climate Targets: How could Quantum Tech make a difference?” that we organise on behalf of Quantum Delta NL, a quantum technology ecosystem that represents the forefront of Europe’s quantum sectors, and who is actively seeking to start a conversation on energy applications from quantum technologies between policymakers, energy industry leaders and quantum experts. We are pleased to organise this Forum, which will provide an opportunity to address the policy needs to bring quantum technologies to the market, as well as the financing needs, public and private, to ensure the growth and competitiveness of this effervescent ecosystem.

Responsible Quantum Technologies (ResQT) 2025

This workshop aims to be another step towards establishing connections between the QT and technology assessment (TA) communities and to introduce some current discussions in the QT community to a new audience. It is organized as part of the QuTec project under Karlsruhe Institute of Technology – Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS).

EXPLORING SPACE: A Space & Military Intelligence Learning Experience

Join us June 9-13, 2025, in Washington, DC, for a week filled with community building and “good, old-fashioned family fun” – complete with uncomfortable conversations, games of capture the flag, and leading the quantum revolution. Summer camp is about learning from new experiences and growing together to become better humans.

We will have activities for the whole family; however, the week is geared towards helping individuals 13-25 years old begin their journey into the future with a Competency-based Portfolio built for a future in quantum intelligence, ethical social engineering, and sustainable globalization (or similar fields) to support the workforce needs of the future. The Competency-based Curriculum and Supplemental Learning Activities are meant to enhance the public schooling experience and teach open-source research techniques that will aid students in their learning journey.

Cleveland Discovery & Innovation Forum

The Cleveland Discovery and Innovation Forum is a global convening of leaders in engineering, computational technologies, and healthcare and life sciences aimed at landscaping the present and creating the future. This year’s forum, co-designed with the National Science Foundation, will focus on biotechnology anchored in artificial intelligence and quantum computing. The invite-only, 1-day event will dissect the journey from creative ideas to societal health benefits. The forum will bring leaders from academia, industry, and government together to participate in a dialogue grounded in science.
