Thierry Botter
Executive Director, European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), JĂĽlich, Germany
As the Executive Director of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), Dr. Thierry Botter is championing the growth and coordination of the quantum technology industry. He helps over 200 member organizations—from startups to large corporations—navigate policy, standards, and commercialization challenges.
Botter has contributed to international efforts to align industry strategies, including co-founding the International Council of Quantum Industry Associations (ICQIA), which provides a platform for global dialogue on the deployment of quantum technologies. He has also supported initiatives by the European Commission, the G7, the World Economic Forum, and NATO, helping to integrate industry perspectives into broader policy discussions and ensuring that commercial and technological considerations are represented at an international level.
Prior to QuIC, Botter led Airbus’s early explorations into applied quantum solutions, including the Airbus Quantum Computing Challenge (AQCC), a worldwide competition addressing practical aerospace problems. Across his roles, Botter has contributed to shaping the infrastructure, collaboration, and policy frameworks that support the practical development and adoption of quantum technologies.
