To commemorate the 50th Thai Quantum S&T Anniversary (#ThaiYQ2025) with #IYQ2025 and IDL2025, an online monthly talk is scheduled for July 22, 2025. Recently, there have been several standardization activities on quantum key distribution (QKD) that have been initiated in international Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). In ITU-T, standardization activities mainly focus on QKD networks, in which study group (SG) 11 studies the protocol and test aspects; SG 13 studies QKD network aspects such as architecture, function elements, and quality of services (QoS); SG 17 studies security aspects, such as security framework and security requirements. The speaker will provide a detailed description of the standards involved in QKD.
