Dr. Paulina Assmann bridges academia, entrepreneurship, and public policy through her leadership in quantum technologies and cybersecurity in Latin America. A physicist and PhD in Astrophysics, she has an international research trajectory across Chile, China, Germany, and the United Kingdom. As co-founder and CEO of Sequre Quantum—the first quantum technology company in Latin America—she leads the global expansion and strategic development of deep-tech solutions for the emerging quantum-safe ecosystem.
As Regional Secretary of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation in Chile, she led nationally recognized initiatives such as the wastewater-based surveillance system for SARS-CoV-2 and illicit drugs, now a reference model for public health monitoring. She also serves on the National Commission for Quantum Technologies, helping bridge scientific capabilities, strategic innovation, and evidence-based public policy.
Her contributions have earned multiple national awards, including the INAPI Award for Innovation and Intellectual Property (2024), Avonni National Innovation Award (2024), RedGT Woman Entrepreneur in Science and Technology (2024), Startup of the Year by El Mercurio (2023), 100 Leading Women (2020), and Women Who Build Greater Concepción (2019).
