The event took place in the academic block one assembly hall and the auditorium from 1 pm to 3:30 pm. The event was designed to inspire students to explore the practical aspects of physics and its growing influence on technological innovations that shape the modern world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students across various science and humanities disciplines. The program commenced at 1 pm with the poster competition, where the students presented creative and well-researched posters highlighting the applications of physics in diverse technological fields. The posters covered topics including space technology, semiconductors, nuclear technology, and fusion reactors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judging panel, comprising senior faculty members Dr. Sanjay Kalita from the department of mathematics and Dr Bhaskar Sharma from the department of chemistry, evaluated the entries based on creativity, scientific accuracy, presentation, and relevance to the theme. The top three entries were awarded certificates and prizes for their outstanding work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Quiz Competition tested participants\u2019 general knowledge and awareness of scientific developments. The quiz included several interactive rounds, which kept both participants and the audience engaged. The competition encouraged teamwork, quick thinking, and a spirit of healthy academic competition among students. Dr Bikash Borah of the Department of Physics conducted the quiz competition as quiz master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event concluded with a valedictory session. Dr. Monmayuri Baruah, HOD of the department, and Dr. Sumita Sharma of the Department of Physics felicitated the winners. In their remarks, the judges commended the participants for their innovation, critical thinking, and enthusiasm toward learning. The program received positive feedback from both students and staff, highlighting its role in fostering a deeper appreciation for the intersection of physics and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the Poster and Quiz Competition on \u201cApplied Physics and Technology\u201d proved to be a valuable platform for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and communication skills.
