Physics Matters Online Colloquium
Join us on Thursday, December 11, 2025, for a special edition of the Physics Matters online colloquium series featuring Prof. Ana María Cetto (Instituto de Física, UNAM), one of the world’s leading voices in quantum foundations and science diplomacy. In her keynote talk, “The First Hundred Quantum Years,. What next?” Prof. Cetto will reflect on the significance of the International Year of Quantum Science (IYQ 2025) and examine what a century of quantum theory has—and has not—resolved. Drawing on her extensive scientific career, international leadership roles, and recognition, including the UNESCO Kalinga Prize, the Oganesson Prize, the AIP Tate Medal, and her role as co-recipient of the Nobel Prize for Peace (1995), she will explore the challenges that persist in the foundations of quantum physics and outline promising directions for future theoretical and experimental research. This event is open to all, and registration ensures timely access to the Zoom link—even for non-APS members.
